Some rooms never stay comfortable. A sun room gets the afternoon sun, a media room holds heat from the equipment, and an addition may not have ducts at all. Extending ductwork is often costly and sometimes impractical. A ductless mini-split is a common answer. A mini-split has an outdoor unit and one or more indoor units mounted on the wall. Refrigerant lines run through a small opening in the wall, so there is no ductwork to build. Each indoor unit cools its own space, and you control the temperature room by room. We install Lennox mini-split air conditioners. We can cool a sun room or media room with a single indoor unit, or set up a system that serves multiple rooms. ## Common questions

Can one mini-split cool several rooms?

A system can be set up with more than one indoor unit so it serves multiple rooms. We look at the layout of your home to decide how many units you need and where they go.

Do I need ductwork for a mini-split?

No. Mini-splits connect the outdoor and indoor units with refrigerant lines, so no ducts are needed in the room being cooled.

Can a mini-split replace my central air?

Sometimes, depending on the size and layout of the house. More often it is used to cool a space the central system does not reach well. We will give you a straight answer after seeing the home.
